Apples - about 1 quart apples, wash and core with skins, cut into chunks
Water or Lemon Juice - small amount to blend
Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
Pecans - 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Start with a few apple chunks in the bottom of blender with as little water or lemon juice as possible. Puree while adding remaining apple chunks and cinnamon. Puree apples until very smooth in texture. Prepare Fruit Roll Sheets, or line drying tray with plastic sheet (tape corners prevent curling), oil surface with small amount of vegetable oil or spray. Pour apple puree over prepared surface 1/4" - 3/8" thick. If using plastic sheet leave a boarder up to an 1". Sprinkle pecan topping over puree. Dry time : 6-8 hours, 130° - 140°F The leather is easier to roll after removing from dehydrator or leave whole to cut up. Individually wrap store air tight container. Remember to label and date!
